    Has the Nabakalebara Coin been Dropped from the Upcoming releases. I saw an update in the Table and thus was wandering. Any News?

      This should have been a 2015 issue. So that year is gone, and 2016 is also gone. So the significance is slightly lost. Plus the same event occurs every 8 to 19 years. Hence this may get scrapped or put in freezer and may get revived in few years. That is my take. There is no news on this from June last year.

    50 YEARS OF ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE -BHEL(1964-2014)
    BIRTH CENTENARY OF OF SWAMI CHINMAYANANDA(2015)

    Is that the case with others as well? is our hard earned money going waste?

      Maulana Re-Bookings dispatch has not yet started. The other are in various stages of dispatch and you should recieve them. Kolkata Mint is quite late in deliveries. I got one of the sets after nearly 2 and half years.

    Recd. the Tata Set yesterday booked in Aug. 2015.
    Yet to receive the BHEL & Swami Chinmayanad set also booked in Aug. 2015.
    Spoke to the Kolkata mint yesterday and the lady told me that I will receive the other 2 sets shortly, but when she was not able to answer.

      Congrats and Thanks for the update. Some have received the BHEL sets but not Tata. Hopefully they will all get dispatched shortly.

    I have raised concern in Govt Grievances site hence I got my Kolkata mint coins in Oct 2016 for the order placed in Aug 2015. The very senior officer from Ministry of Finance expedited this
    But I am not sure if I need to raise another case in govt grievance portal for the coins listed by Kolkata mint in 2016 as there is no sign of dispatch till date

      Mint sends an automated email with order number. If the status shows success and your card got debited you are good.

    Out of two coins ie 125th Birth Anniversary of Moulana Kalam Azad and Birth Centenary of Begum Akthar onfline booked on December 04,2015 received Begum Akthar coins on Dec 17,2016 ,the other one Moulana Abdul Kalam Azad received on Feb 21,2017.Calcutta mint has taken a long time compared to Mumbai mint.Anyway thanks

      Yes. However the BHEL from Kolkata Mint are plenty, going at Rs 10 in Kolkata Exhibition. Hopefully the Mumbai Mint coins prices will also come down once it reaches the hands of dealers.

    Now what is the meaning in kolkatta updating the payment confirmations of coins booked 8 months back. if payment confirmation alone takes 9 months, god knows the delivery timelines.

    Now just may be out of concept 500 rs released in mid November 2016. in just a span of 1.5 months of printing as many as 20 varieties or prefixes of star notes are reported. Guess what would be defective notes ratio.

    At Long Last, received the Sets from Orders placed in Aug 2015, with the Kolkata Mint. Packaging is terrible, with the Coins coming out of the Casing. One thing in the Worst experience, is that of being able to touch and replace the coins inside the package, and this time I used Fevi Quick to ensure perfect sealing... Kudos IG Mint Kolkata!!

    Hello Admin,
    I've some doubt about Swami Chinmayananda VIP set. I doubt it was privately packed issues.

    I saw the VIP set first on your blog and then with few other dealers. Generally all sets (VIP, Proof and UNC) are printed with issuing Mint names on the back side. I was expecting to see issued from Kolkata mint printed on it.

    But there were no Mint names with the set. My doubt is it's privately packed and issued by some high-end dealer and it's not an authorize Mint issue. Or in other words, it's Fake. Can you please have a look and keep us posted.

    General thumb rule is, if the issue is not published by Mint, it's Fake. Is it the case here too.

      VIP set's are a difficult lot. In this specific case, the mint did issue the sets as shown in the picture. However it is also a common practice to buy the VIP set box from manufacturer and put coins from proof set. One cannot distinguish between the mint issue and the other.

    As per India Govt. Mint Mumbai, the dispatches of Mata Vaishno Devi, Jawaharlal Nehru - 125th Birth Anniversary Celebration and Benaras Hindu University - Centenary Commemorative Sets have begun effective 3rd April 2017.
    Any one receiving the Sets can confirm the first hand news...

    3. Yep.. While having a word with one of the Marketing Officials of the Mumbai Mint; I expressed my dismay in late dispatches this time. They had some procurement related issues and I got an assurance that all three sets dispatches would complete by end of May 2017; and even if not received by then - To give a call back to the Mint Office.

    1. Wishing All a Happy Bengali and Tamil New Year. The I G Mint Kolkata has started the dispatches of Indo-Africa 500 Rs and Lala Lajpat Rai Sets are in progress. The Rani Gaindinliu Sets are expected to start in May 2017, due to Stock and Procurement issues. ONL Orders are being dispatched First, and there is no Telephonic or e-mail notification of dispatch from the Mint, this time. Happy Collecting!

    1. Congrats for the Rani Set. The Banaras Sets have just started dispatch. Hopefully everyone should get them in next few months.

    2. As per the India Govt. Mint Mumbai, the dispatch of the BHU Sets would only begin in End of July 2017. They are currently processing the dispatches of the Offline Bookings for Nehru and Mata Vaishno Devi sets and are expected to start the dispatch for the Nov 2016 bookings; only by the End of July 2017. Keeping Fingers Crossed for the set to arrive some time in Early August....

    1. on spot booking....what difference between this on spot and online/offline booking modes..may be the gateway charges will be less?? delivery would anyway be via post.

    2. Same as offline. You submit the application form along with DD. Save on speed post charge and be assured that mail was not lost in transit :)

    3. I have visited the exhibition today. As suggested by Admin, spot booking is same as offline but we will save cost on creating DD as they are accepting card.

    1. Most likely different prefix or inset. Else fakes. There are known errors in older series where same number is printed twice.

      Secondly as explained by admin there might be different prefixes & insets though of same number. Also older series notes before 2005 had no dates, so it is always possible that we get same number, prefix & inset notes of same governor but there is chance that they are printed in different years. Isn't it admin?
