B Ramarau English Only

The first Rs 5 note after independence continued with the older design of antelopes at the back, except that the design was tweaked a bit. The value was written only in English.

B Ramarau Incorrect Hindi, Rupya

Beginning with this issue, denomination was written in Hindi as well. There was a debate as to the correct plural of  Rupee in Hindi, initially it was thought that it should be "Ya", but was finally settled to "ye". Hence all the notes signed by B Rama Rau come in 3 versions, English Only, Incorrect Hindi and Corrected Hindi.
