After a delayed introduction of steel and withdrawal of Cupro-Nickel, the Government was forced to change the metal again. This time the Nickel-Brass composition was adopted in the year 2009 beginning with the Saint Alphonsa issue. The weight of the coin remained same as the steel coin at 6 gm and the side was also kept same. This meant a reduction in the thickness of the coins.

The 5 Rupees, 2009 Saint Alphonsa Birth Centenary, shows the portrait of Saint Alphonsa. Saint Alphonsa is the first person from India to achieve the Sainthood status. The mint details and Description are;

Mumbai and Kolkata Mint the Proof Dies were used for circulation strike. There was another die used for circulation strike. The key difference is around the rose petals.

2009 Perarignar Anna Centenary [CN Annadurai]

The 5 Rupees, 2009 Perarignar Anna Centenary [CN Annadurai], was a Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The was the first member of Dravidian party and first non-congress leader to form a majority government in India. The mint details and Description are;

Notes:
CN Annadurai is also called as Perarignar Anna. Perarignar is like a title. It means "great genius" in Tamil. Annadurai was fondly called Anna by the masses. Anna means elder brother.
This is the only coin in Indian coinage that has a Signature on the coin.

2010 Rabindranath Tagore

The 5 Rupees, 2010 Rabindranath Tagore, was released on the occasion of 150th Birth Centenary. Tagore was a Bengali poet who reshaped Bengali literature & music. His is known for his book "Gitanjali" and the only Indian to Win a Nobel prize for Literature in 1913. The is also the author of Indian National Anthem and also the National Anthem of Bangladesh. The 5 Rupees, 2010 Mother Teresa, was released on the occasion of birth Centenary. She was the founder of the Missionaries of Charity in 1950 and worked for the poor, sick and dying. The mint details and Description are;

2010 Platinum Jubilee of Reserve Bank of India

The 5 Rupees, 2010 Platinum Jubilee of Reserve Bank of India depicts the Tiger, Palm and crest of RBI. The mint details and Description are;

Note: Amongst non-leaders there are only few themes that have multiple issues. The Independence theme that saw Silver Jubilee and 50 Years Golden Jubilee. The other issue being the Reserve Bank of India that saw 50 Years as well as 75 Years.

Interesting: A strange division. Normally when a commemorative is issued, depending on the capacity more than one mint strikes the same issue. Incase of RBI there is an interesting fact, whether this was on purpose or coincidental its for mints to tell. There were 4 coins struck in different denominations and by different mints. IE the Rs 1 was struck only from Hyderabad Mint, the Rs 2 was struck only from Kolkata Mint, the Rs 5 was struck only from Mumbai mint and the Rs 10 was struck only from Noida mint.

Note: The Mumbai Mint Coin Distributed during Ceremony was with Mumbai mint Mark [Diamond]. However the coin put in general circulation by Mumbai Mint was without mint mark. After quite some time the Kolkata Mint also put this coin in circulation. Its difficult to distinguish between a Mumbai and Kolkata Mint coin.
