    My Pleasure. But the Procedure of listing is weird when I had a Look into the list. It follows Last In First out Order; which is something ideally incorrect. For Example the First Order placed as per the Serial, comes last in the list :)

    Dear Nilanka - Once your Order Sequence Number has been dispatched, a Notification would be triggered to your registered e-mail from the India Govt. Mint Mumbai with the Reference Tracking Number. This would vary depending on the Day when your order was placed, and the current sequence being processed.

    Dear saurab ji as per the updates in the kolkatta mint website the dispatch dates are targetted as 18.06.16....But you cannot say anything about the kolkatta mint....by the time you get the sets from this mint you can easily get minimum 3 bookings from mumbai mint...normally mumbai dispatches in 1-1.5 month and kolkatta 6-9 months...

    Mumbai mint announced new booking - Allahabad High court- from today.
    Kolkata mint not yet started dispatch. Even new coins are not come in circulation.

    most disgusting part of kolkatta mint is their minting quality...UNC sets of mumbai are far far better than the proof sets of kolkatta mint....unc sets from kolkatta mint does not even needs to be discussed. and for the fact mint hardly cares.....wait for 6-9 months for the sets & after that what you get from kolkatta mint..........god its pathetic......some 2 months back just compared the begum aktar sets with yoga day sets.......hell a lot difference......in view of the same i have not even thought of booking the chinmayananda & tata sets....but bhel sets for the 50rs denomination booked both proof & unc....

      True. I got Begum Akhtar after a year, others after nearly 2 and half years. Quality is hard to predict.

      The items are despatched under insurance. So loss of items is rare and you would get a replacement. Ensure you follow up regularly in writing. Contact the post office and ask them for proof of delivery or get missing goods letter and send to Mumbai mint. Also check with neighbours if they have received the parcel.

    Need some help regarding my latest booking from Mumbai Mint. I've booked B R Ambedkar & Indo Pak War 1965 coins from Mumbai mint on 4th Feb,2016 but till date no update from them. As per the information posted in your blog, as soon as they process/ship my order, they send SMS/Email to the customer. Till date I didn't got any such notification. People generally say, Mumbai mint dispatch is efficient however my experience is not that pleasant.

     Now should I'be worried or that's normal? I can see many other members have already received their sets. Can you please help me regarding how to follow-up with them? Do you've any numbers/email to help me here? Tried calling their numbers given in the website but as usual no response. If you can give me the contact details of any person in charge, that will be a great help.

     Looking forward to your guidance.

      Mumbai mint despatch is good. The Ambedkar and Golden jubilee despatch has begun. As you have booked online in Feb, your turn is yet to come. It may take another 2-4 weeks

    I had booked B.R.Ambedkar coin on 20 December and received it before 2 weeks+I got mail after I received the set.

     After sometime i.e.on 29 December,I ordered 50 years Indo-Pak war coin,but I still haven't received,how much time atmost it may take?

     And Mr. Dasam,I just wanted to inform others,it's showing not available in mine too. :-)

    Plz be assured about the mumbai mint bookings....in any case they deliver the sets within 2 months after the bookings closure......but klokatta mint it is very hard....book and forget for minimum 7 months. after which they would start dispatching and will get the sets in 15-18 months after the bookings closure...this is the reason why i have not booked the chinmayananda & tata sets. but cud not resist booking of the bhel sets because of the 50 rs coin. hopefully i get the bhel sets atleast by august which would make it 8 months after bookings closure..better to get the kolkatta sets at a slight premium from the dealers....

      The exact date is hard to predict. There is quite a bit of backlog and hopefully these would be put into circulation later this year

    There is news from Mumbai dealers that the new 3 5 rupee releases(Beghum Akhtar, BHEL and Jamshedji Tata) are all fakes as Kolkata mint is the one to mint these first and then only Mumbai can release them.

      This is not true... generally the mint that release the coin puts them in circulation first. It's a capacity issue... if forgers can strike, they could easily have struck Kolkata mint. Given the low demand in coin collection these days it's more of trying to protect territory... so the dealer are telling lies

      There is no rule. The RBI coins were released by Mumbai mint. Yet Rs 10 was by noida, Rs 5 , Rs 2 and Rs 1 by Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad...
      Like I said generally yes but there is no rule.

      But any idea why Mumbai dealers should tell that Mumbai Mint coins are fake? They won't be able to sell if they tell that way. I would have understood if Kolkata dealers said the same as they wouldn't want Mumbai to sell them. Just ignore if my questions sound silly. I am happy if Mumbai mint has released it. Because that is my source. Also Mumbai releasing it usually means the quantity is more and there is good chance of getting the coin.

    recieved my 65years & ambedkar proof sets some 15days back. this time no mail correspondance sent by mint regarding dispatch and also late which made me a bit worried. but all the while mumbai mint is the best. now waiting for my unc sets as i booked them one month later than the proof sets. quality a bit disappointed with the 65 yrs sets as they are no where closer to the pictures posted in various fb groups. expected them a lot better. kolkatta sets booked before these sets are yet to be known.hope they arrive sooner as i have booked the recent 4 sets of kolkatta also.sets booked in december not yet dispatched & had to book the new sets.only because of the 500rs coin. planning to book two more 500rs sets but worried about the kolkatta mint quality.and finally coming to my long awaited set. as posted earlier by me that one of the long pending set is about to be released. finally vaishno devi sets will be available for collectors from the best indian mint. first 25 rs coin & also 10rs,5rs combined.just cant wait more.

      Yes. From this issue it is separate from so that despatch can be tracked better as not all themes are shipped together. You need to make separate DD and write the name and theme on back.

    recieved my abmedkar proof & unc, 50years of war proof & unc, allahabad high court proof sets.......allahabad sets booked in april'16. But till date no signs of dispatch of my bhel sets from kolkatta mint booked in dec'15. adding to this had to book 4 more sets from kolkatta mint. now dec'15 sets are not yet dispatched, do not know how long this new sets booked in this month will arrive. expexting to may be recieve these 4 sets atleast by july'17.

    Excellent; which means Kolkata Mint would be the ONLY Unit in the World to send a person his/her sets in the fag end of delivery schedule, if he books on the First Day of the Coins Booking being thrown open...We should leave the Computers and go back to writing in Registers.. When Staffs can't do a Basic Sort in Ordering Sequence; Ther should be No Expectation on the Productivity...And the Results are quite significant!

      The despatch started from August 2015 last year. My incorrect understanding was it is complete, hence removed from status. However rebook in December last year have not yet been despatched and planned later this year.

    There is a News mentioning that there would be a PNC to commemorate the Canonization of Mother Teresa. As per the Article, it would be a Philatelic Cover; with an UNC Rs. 5.00 Coin of Mother Teresa's Birth Centenary - released in 2010; alongside. Further details on Distribution process is awaited.

    Any idea why the tata, bhel and Begum 5 rupee coins are neither in market nor in public? A few dealers/sellers are selling at high rates but it is not available otherwise. This is the first time I am seeing such thing for a 5 rupee coin.

      Its a distribution issue. Wait for sometime and it would be widely available. There are quite a few collectors selling spares on Facebook at Rs 10 for these. This is not the first time. The Golden Jubilee of 1965 was priced at Rs 250 for 5 months, before it was widely available.

    Kolkata Mint has no Track & Trace mechanism for its dispatches. Finally when the Telephones have started working, the Sales Team has no clue of where the Order Status stands, for a Customer who has booked sets over a year ago... It's worth learning how to serve Customers, from the Way India Govt. Mint - Kolkata Works. Swami Chinmayananda Online Dispatches remain in progress in the reverse order of Last Order First Dispatch; while Tata Sets are in the Manual Booking being dispatched status...

    Mumbai mint meanwhile is running short of Packaging Material, and hence any order placed after July 1st is currently in halt from being dispatched..Post the Festive Season being done with, it's expected to see the Packages being ready...Minimum 1 Month more... Mumbai has also started following Kolkata Mint now...

      The original orders are complete. The re-booking quite a few are yet to be despatched. It seems that mint has taken a pause and despatching other sets earlier.

      FYI, I got my Tukaram set's after more than 2 years.

    Thanks admin for sharing the news regarding the sale of RBI 5 coin proof set @16k + premium. also i myself have been seeing the sale of this unc & proof sets in FB for past 2 yrs and now in the auction houses, certainly the prices have gone down by app. 25-30%. just seen in recent concluded acution the subash chandra bose UNC set concluded at 10K+premium while the same is anywhere not below 15k in the open market. may be the reason being the dealers booking all the releases of sets in huge qunatity. i see many dealers saying i will book 50 sets of each..sets are now not a good investment option but for the collectors like me to fill the gaps is good time....enjoy collecting..

    Just checked the counter sale products on the kolkata mint website to my astonishment the UNC sets of 150 years of India Post is being sold at a sky rocketing rate of 10.4k there are several other sets including the 150 years of Indian Telecommunication of which the UNC set is also being sold at a very high rate of 10.4k

    no collector is a fool to book these from mint at this price. also if the dealers take this as an opportunity to sky high the sets prices, they might land up in zero customers. though i don't think there is even 1% chance that the dealers would do this as looking at the auction houses & the facebook bidding these all listed sets go in range of 3000-4500 maximum and i mean the maximum. i myself got the Tagore & commonwealth proof sets a couple of months back at the 2012 mint booking prices of 2700+ & 2800+. would agree i am lucky on this part to get at this prices. present trend is that the most unc & proof sets of 70's & 80's are down from their price a year back. certainly this is foolish from k mint looking in to their credibility of minting quality & also the age long deliveries, i would definitely wonder if mint gets atleast one booking.

    There could be a reason why the 2000 note is almost getting introduced in a hush hush manner. From the initial images it looks like Gandhiji is getting replaced by Sardar Patel and BJP would want to avoid any big political opposition which is naturally expected :)

      The Mata Vaishno Devi, Nehru - 125th Birth Anniversary and Benaras Hindu University Sets would be dispatched January onwards. there is some procurement related issues with the Mumbai Mint and thus it is taking some time.

      On the I.G. Mint Kolkata News, this letter has been received by me as well; but has no mention of the Two Sets booked in the same order - apart from Swami Chinmayananda Birth Centenary set to be delivered by Dec 2016. A System which needs rigor, possibly also hit due to the demonetization and with a delayed start; the arrivals are further delayed.

      Finally, on the New Currency Notes that we have in the market now a days, getting used to the Size of an existing 100 Rupee Note and New 500 Rupee Note, needs caution at the time of handling. The 100 Rupee is bigger than the New 500 Rupee - So beware of bundling them together :)

      Before you start buying, read the various articles for beginners. Click Home to see the links. You first need to decide you theme to collect. Having decided, you need to find out the cost for this year on year basis. If you want to collect earlier sets, factor that cost as well. Now look at the budget you have. If comfortable, go ahead. Else revise your theme to collect. Quite a few enter into the hobby without knowing the theme and either loose interest or have not factored the budget. For example if you theme is Hyderabad Mint Single Coin Sets, the budget would be roughly Rs 5000 - Rs 7000 a year for all the issues.
