  2. I have some contact no.s of kolkatta mint coin booking.
    Ritesh Paul - 09038010301 Marketing.
I had contacted him several times regarding my bookings of 10 sets & he gave me reply everytime. Received all the sets in a time span of almost 1 year. The last being very late the 60rs proof set.
Also one learning from this booking is that do not book all the sets in one order. Book each set which would help in quick receipt. This is my experience with hyderabad mint also.Mumbai mint is the best. Quick delivery with tracking details on your mentioned mail id.

  5. Hello Sir,

I still not received "The coins of 60 Years of Coir Board, bombay mint".

    Other also facing similar issue?

  6. There are some others who have still not received the sets. If you see the comments above, few have received just few weeks back. So your turn should be soon. If you had booked on the opening day you should have got it, if you have done near to closing date, it would be late. Best write a mail to the mint on the official address. Keep sending reminders.

  9. Sir I wanted to know whether the kolkata mint has began the dispatch of the begam akthar and other coins for which the booking period was till 1st February because I have not yet received it

  10. shreyas bhanariji.......you hav done your part in booking your sets form kolkatta. now forget about the dispatch. especially if you have bulk booking from kolkatta mint, the dispatch timeline varies from 6-12 months. in my last booking i have even received one of my set after 14 months. so sit back & relax...they will dispatch once they realize.....cant do much about kolkatta mint...as for the fact dispatch did not start....

  30. Admin- Thanks for incorporating my suggestion about including Name of the mint along with the title of coin set released.
repeat advertisement by kolkata mint - does it imply that the number of booking is less or much below expectation. I think it indicates that releasing too many coin sets in short span of time is making it difficult to collectors to keep pace with bookings available. Just my thoughts.

  31. @Satish. Its a complex stuff. My views, with mints from being a division of RBI to becoming corporate entity with spmcil, they are like any other corporates who have to forecast revenues and profits. Given that there is little room for cost reduction in such organizations the drive is more towards making money from such sets. From a peak in 2011, 2012 the coin collecting has moved and its now a rich man's hobby with quite a few sets being issued every year ... so yes mint is not meeting its targets and hence keeping on opening the bookings for the coins.

Coins of Rs 5 denomination for Begum Akhtar, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, BHEL, Rani Gaidinliu and coins of Rs 10 Denomination for Swami Chinmayananda and Dr S Radhakrishnan are not yet put into circulation. Given the number of issues, these should take some time and hopefully be available for circulation

  40. 1965 war commemorative sets are being offered for sale on some Facebook groups. However, I don't see any option to book these sets on the Mumbai mint website. Any news whether these sets will be offered for booking to the collectors?

    1. Like the Yoga sets, these were also minted to be available during release, however there was no streamlined process, if you knew somebody you could get it.
Wait for some time, the regular bookings should be open and also available from mint counter

  41. hi, I have not had a good experience with Kolkata mint earlier - can someone share the experience during recent bookings? Also is it advisable to book each coin as separate order, so that value of single transit / risk of specific order delay can be mitigated? or single order works fine.

Never faced issue with Mumbai mint though.

    1. Read article on booking coins from mint. Generally separate order's by post are faster. Online the earlier you book the faster. All online orders are clubbed together

  43. In the Kolkata mint website, the order form shows only the coins of silver metal eg. in case of BHEL 50 years, the order shows only 50 Rs coin. There is no mention of the 5 Rs coin. Will we get both the coins even if the order form shows only the 50 Rs coin?
