Week long celebrations on Finale of 125th Foundation Year Celebrations of National Archives of India Commences today

On the occasion of “Finale of 125th Foundation Year Celebrations of National Archives of India (NAI) under Ministry of Culture”, a week long celebrations commenced here today. The celebrations will culminate on 11th March, 2016.

Shri N.K.Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Culture inaugurated an Archival exhibition entitled “Independent India: A Forward March (Based on Post Independence Public Records)” in the premises of National Archives of India, Janpath here today.

A two day Seminar on the “Sources of 18th and 19th Century” would be organized from 8-9 March 2016 in the Conference Hall, NAI, Janpath, New Delhi.

On the eve of ‘National Archives of India Foundation Day 2016’ on 10 March 2016, Prof. Surendra Gopal, an eminent historian will deliver the Foundation Day lecture on “Some Foriegn Archives and India’s History” at 10:00 am in the Auditorium of Nehru Memorial Museum and Library.

Besides a cultural programme “Char Bait” by the artists of Bhopal and Rampur Gharana will be organized in the lawns of National Archives of India same evening.

The Finale of 125th Foundation Year would be culminated by following programmes in the presence of Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State (I/C) for Culture and Tourism and Minister of State for Civil Aviation at 11:00 am on 11th March 2016 in the Auditorium of Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, Teen Murti Bhawan, New Delhi :

1. Launch of emblem of NAI with tagline ;

2. Release of one Commemorative Coin on NAI Rs. 125/- and a Circulating Coin of Rs.10/- ;

3. Release of Commemorative Postal Stamp of Rs. 5/- with first day cover ;

4. Release of two publications of NAI -

a. Coffee table book: 125 Years of NAI ;

b. Past of the Future- based on the memoirs of people associated with NAI ; and

5. Presentation of DVD of Amiya Nath Bose Papers by the family members of Netaji.
