New Bookings Open:
Hyderabad Mint has opened booking from 14th December to 29th Feb 2012
Almost 11 Single Coin sets are available. Apart from the Gur-Ta-Gaddi and Lousie Braille, rest 9 are new bookings.
The Single Coin Sets available for booking are;

2. Rabindranath Tagore
3. 100 Years of Brihadeewara Temple
4. C Subramaniam
5. Dr Rajendra Prasad
6. XIX Common Wealth Games [Both Rs 2 & 5]
7. Louis Braille
8. Gu-Ta-Gaddi
9. Shahid Bhagat Singh
10. Income Tax

Within a span of one month, 3 new coins of 2011 were issued. Apart from the Income Tax that was released early in year, the second issue was 100 Years of Civil Aviation, the third being 100 years of ICMR [Indian Council of Medical Research] released on 15th November. The last of the release of 2011 being the 150 years of CAG was released on 16th November. This is the 3rd issue that will have a coin of Rs 150/- after the Tagore and Income Tax.
So with 4 issues this year and 2 issues of last year, there looks a lot of backlog that the mint has to cover for bookings of these coins.

I just noticed that there is some test listing under Kolkata and Hyderabad Mint site. Although nothing can be booked, looks like very soon there would be some issue that would be available for booking. The mints are already way behind with booking due for last year's coins of Temple and Subramaniam.

The Second Commemorative Coin for this year is the "100 years of civil Aviation". This was released by President Prathiba Patil on 17th October.

The VIP Coin Set has a Coin of Rs 100 & Rs 5 that was minted by Mumbai Mint. So we can expect that the booking for this would be from Mumbai Mint.
There is still no news on the booking for the Temple or C Subramaniam or Income Tax.

Re-Booking of 150th Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
The Kolkata Mint has opened rebooking for the Tagore Coins. Those of you who have missed booking this earlier should take the opportunity to rebook the coins.

New Designs of Standard Coins:
The standard coins have been redesigned. The coins are in mint and some of them have already been released. Apart from incorporating the new Rupee symbol, there is a change in size as well;
- The 50 Paise coin will be of the size of Old 25 Paise Coin
- The 1 Rupee coin will be of the size of Old 50 paise Coin
- The 2 Rupee coin will be of the size of Old 1 Rupee Coin
- The Rs 5 and Rs 10 coin will be of same size.

- 2010: 1000 years of Brihadeeswarar Temple: The bookings for Proof Set and UNC is delayed will be opened soon by October / November 2011. The coins in this set are Rs 1000/- and Rs 5/-
- 2011: 100 Years of Indian Council of Medical Research. This would be next commemorative to be released. Awaiting Details.
- 2011: 150 Years of the Kuka Movement Rules. This would be next commemorative to be released. Awaiting Details.
- 2011: 150 Years of Vivekananda. This is another commemorative for the year 2011. Awaiting Details.
