The Rs 1000 Notes were available post Independence. After minting them for quite sometime, these were demonetized during 1980's to curb black money. There were no notes printed during the tenor of LK Jha, BN Adarkar and S Jagannathan. They were printed later during NC Sen Gupta and then KR Puri. It was only in 2000's that these notes were re-introduced during the tenor of Bimal Jalan

  1. Rs 1000/- note signed by H V R Iyengar is missing from the list. It must have been issued during 1957-62.
