2011 - Indian Coinage New Series - Collectors Pack




In the Year 2011, all the Indian Coins were redesigned to include the new Rupee Symbol.
A Collectors Pack was released on this occasion.

No booking have been invited for this set. It is being sold over the counter at the Mumbai Mint from 6th January 2012. The stock ran out in July 2013.
Due to popular demand, the sets were reissued from Mint counter from August 2013. The size was reduced to that of normal blister pack.

New Rupee Symbol Coins of Rs 10, 5, 2, 1 and 50 Paise - Second Issue
The size of the pack is reduced in the second issue and is more of the size of normal blister pack. Although the inner cover is molded plastic with coins firmly housed; the external is a normal blister cover.

  1. this set is no longer available at the mint since last july approx

    i had spoken to a guy @ mint , he said there were 27000 minted(dont know how true it is)

  2. The set was initially issued as 2 per person. On a given day only 30 people could buy any sets.
    Later around March, this was increased to 5 per person, previously who had taken 2 could take 3 more.
    So max of 30 people can buy coins from counter a day. 25 days in a month. 4 months total. Max 5 sets per person. So 30*25*4*5 around 15000. Not everyone of the 30 people bought the sets, not every bought 5 ea.
