50 Paise – Fourth Series
There was a small design change compared to the 3rd series. The distnace between the Paise [Hindi and English] at the top is less compared to the coins of 3rd series. The coins were struck from 1974 to 1983.
50 Paise – Fifth Series
A major design change was introduced in 1984. A wreath was surrounding the coin on the periphery on both obverse and reverse. The metal continued to be Cupro-Nickel and the coins were struck from 1984 to 1990. There are small variations in the die design that indicate at least 2 Master dies were used.
