50 Paise – Series Six – Steel Issue
As the cost of the metal kept rising, Steel made way into Indian coinage. The 50 Paise coins were struck in steel from 1988. Note there was a 3 years overlap with coins being struck in Cupro-Nickel and Steel. The coins were struck from 1998 to 2007.
Note: The only design to have “Bharat” and “India” on both sides of the coin.
